I do technology startups, based in Zurich, Switzerland. Most of this work occurs at the interface between neuroscience, engineering, and human-computer interaction. My short bio is as follows:

Co-founder and CEO at iniVation, which produces ultra-high-performance vision systems for automation, robotics, consumer electronics, and aerospace. We sent the first neuromorphic technology into space in 2021. Awards include a CES Best of Innovation Award (2020) and a Red Dot Design Award (2022). Also co-founder and board member at iniLabs (neuromorphic tech incubator), advisor at QuantActions. Raised over $20M in research and venture funding in total. Former founding chairman at SynSense; earlier startup YouRehab acquired by Reha-Stim.

Former faculty at Uni/ETH Zurich, ran research group investigating neuroscience and medical applications of VR (45+ peer-reviewed scientific articles, 5 patents), before moving to transition technology to tech startups. Still teach/coach startup cases from time to time at Uni Zurich Digital Entrepreneurship; founding co-director of the Misha Mahowald Prize for Neuromorphic Engineering; advisor for Karuna VR and Educreators Foundation.

Previously partner at a software consultancy, developing systems including infrastructure asset management and scoring of diving competitions (used at 2x Australian national championships). Worked on software testing for a partner of Telstra designing the national telecommunications fault management system. Was also a design engineer at ABB and Alstom, developing high-temperature components and analysis automation for high-efficiency gas turbines. Previously interned at GM Australia. Degrees in science (comp. sci., applied math.) and mechanical engineering at Monash University (Melbourne), PhD from Institute of Neuroinformatics at ETH Zurich. Senior member, IEEE.
